Bioheat

What is Bioheat?

When used as home heating fuel, BioDiesel is mixed with heating oil and known as BioHeat®. A common blend is 5% BioDiesel with 95% heating oil, also known as B5. More extreme blends such as B100 can also be requested. Our biodiesel blend is created from reclaimed vegetable oil or animal fat and has a lower carbon intensity, which means lower gas emissions.

Why use BioHeat?  It reduces your carbon footprint and starting July 2012, it's mandatory for all oil heat.

#2 heating fuel is the most widely used (49%) and most volatile of all home heating fuels, but has been the most common way in which people heat their homes. Starting July 2012 it is mandatory to use at least a 3% blend in heating oils as per the clean air act. By 2016, it will be mandatory to use a 7% blend. Bourne's Energy delivers B5 that is blended in our own BioBlending Plant.
