What are BioDiesel and BioHeat?

What is BioHeat?

  • BioHeat is an advanced fuel being called "The Evolution of Oil Heat."

  • Bioheat® is traditional home heating oil blended with Biodiesel. You can’t make Bioheat without Biodiesel.

  • Bioheat provides a cleaner, more complete and energy efficient burn. Reduces toxic emissions; is biodegradable, suitable for sensitive environments and may actually extend equipment life and reduces periodic maintenance intervals.

  • To understand what makes Bioheat® the cleaner and renewable home heating oil for now and the future, its important to understand the basics about Biodiesel.

The Basics of BioDiesel

  • BioDiesel is the name given to a fuel for diesel engines or home heating fuel-also known as Bioheat.

  • BioDiesel is a renewable energy resource made domestically.

  • BioDiesel is created by the chemical conversion of numerous readily available resources like fatty acids, vegetable oils, recycled restaurant oils, and other natural sources.

  • BioDiesel is simple to use, has lower emissions, is bio-degradable, nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics.

How BioDiesel is made. How BioDiesel is made

  • The Bourne’s BioFuel product travels a small journey before arriving at a home, motored vehicle or heavy equipment.

  • For production of BioDiesel, the Journey starts at a local restaurant with the used cooking grease.

  • White Mountain Diesel collects and processes the used cooking grease so that it can be used for the making of BioDiesel.

  • Bourne’s picks up the processed grease and brings it back to our plant for BioFuel blending.

BioBlending Plant

BioDiesel Blend: Biodiesel contains no petroleum, but it can be blended at any level with petroleum diesel to create a biodiesel blend. It can be used in diesel engines with little or no modifications.

How much biodiesel is blended with heating oil to make Bioheat®?
  • Bioheat® blends usually range between 2% and 5%.
  • Pure Biodiesel is called B100.
  • A Bioheat® blend with 2% Biodiesel is referred to as B2
  • A blend with 5% Biodiesel as B5
  • And so on up to B100.

White Mountain BiodieselWhite Mountain Diesel

Is a facility that collects and converts all cooking grease into a ready-to-use product that creates a friendlier, less destructive fuel.

White Mountain Biodiesel, LLC is a fully diversified biodiesel company.
They engage in the following activities:

  • manufacture and sell biodiesel
  • collect, process, buy and sell Waste Restaurant Grease also known as WVO or Yellow Grease
  • manufacture and sell specialty products made from biodiesel
  • collect and process by-products created during the biodiesel process (i.e. glycerol)
  • help farmers and land owners return fallow and unused open land to productivity through the planting and harvesting of oil seed crops
  • design, construct and operate biodiesel plants

Why? White Mountain Biodiesel believes that the age of oil is rapidly coming to an end.

The World Fact Book, a reference resource authored by the CIA, indicates there is 1.4 trillion barrels of oil left on the planet. This sounds like a big number, but the World consumes 85 million barrels of oil a day, or 31 billion barrels a year. Therefore, at our current consumption rate, it will all be gone in 45 years. And the fighting over these reserves has already begun. Our nation's wealth is being exhausted buying and protecting petroleum. Our sons and daughters are dying to secure our access to oil. Help us to protect our children and the economic future of America. Ask for and use products made with biodiesel.

Local Restaurants

  • They are paid $1.00 per gallon for cooking grease that has already served it’s purpose.

  • This grease can otherwise be difficult to get rid of and is disposed of in a landfill.

  • They can feel good about helping the planet and their communities by getting their used oil to White Mountain Diesel.

Bourne’s Energy

  • The plant allows us to blend whatever blend is requested. A steady supply will be available without the burden of having to buy it splash blended elsewhere. We want to offer our customers options and reliability when it comes to using a greener, cleaner fuel.
