BOURNE'S ENERGY MAKES UNPRECEDENTED CUTS TO CUSTOMER FUEL COSTS

Passes Drop in Crude Oil Price on To Customers Just in Time for the Holidays

Morrisville, VT (December 5, 2008) - Just as consumers were bracing themselves for another winter with potentially high heating costs, Bourne's Energy delivered some very good news: lower prices. In a pioneering move, Bourne's has taken the initiative to give their customers a price break on home heating fuel budgets in light of the recent drop in crude oil prices.  For those who signed contracts earlier this year, when oil was at an all-time high, this comes as a welcome surprise in tough times.

"Bourne's Energy has always taken a proactive role in providing the best to our customers. The decision pass the saving we were seeing along to them was an easy one," said Larry Miller, Marketing Director for Bourne's Energy.  He adds, "When prices shift from a high of close to $5.00 in July to the recent price below $3.00 we just felt something had to be done." So how do the savings translate in customers' bottom line?
  • All Bourne's Energy customers on a capped price monthly payment budget plan will be seeing their monthly payments decrease by 15%
  • Only those customers that are on a capped budget plan
  • These customers paid an insurance fee for protection of their pricing
  • Fixed Pre-Buys will not be affected
  • Fixed Budges will not be affected

"Being part of the community means we weather the storms together," said Peter Bourne, co-owner of the company. "We are not a bank - so it is not our intention to hold onto customer's hard earned money." Fueling the Future - Bourne's Energy's recently-adopted tagline - is proven in this forward-looking move.

For customers, the "wow factor" of having this cut now is creating a great deal of elation. "This is great for a lot of reasons. It's sort of offsetting everything else that's going on," says Bourne's customer, Brian Harwood.  Historically, customers may have seen a cut in monthly pricing in the spring, but never this early in the season. With everyone saddled by an economy in flux, and with the holidays upon them, a gift like this goes a very long way.
